SERC Projects: Benthic Community Surveys (studying introduced freshwater and marine species in U.S. waters to measure invasions along U.S. coastlines in fouling and soft sediment communities), Living Seawall Project (in collaboration with the Port of San Francisco)
Research Interests: marine ecology, marine invertebrate zoology and taxonomy, effects of invasive species on local communities, larval ecology (development, dispersal, behavior, and effects on population structure), marine invertebrate communities (rocky intertidal, subtropical reefs, estuaries, and mudflats), living seawall and shorelines ecology, wetland restoration ecology, and coastal conservation management
