Christine Buckley

Biography

Christine Buckley joined the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center’s Development staff in 2015.  As a Major Gift Officer, her focus is on growing the local donor base and engaging with planned giving prospects.  She also manages corporate relations and executes donor stewardship events.  A 26-year resident of the Annapolis area, she finds daily inspiration in her role at SERC and in raising awareness of SERC's mission to inform, educate, and engage people in science-based solutions for the environment.  Prior career experience includes: Senior Executive Assistant to Maryland State Treasurer Nancy Kopp; Senior Executive Assistant to James A. Johnson, while he was Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Fannie Mae, of The John F. Kennedy Center, and the Brookings Institution.  Christine has planned events and conferences for Fannie Mae, the Department of HUD, and as a Senior Conference Manager for Aspen Systems Corporation.  Christine lives in Edgewater with her husband, and they have two daughters in college.
