Event Details

SERC's Fish and Invertebrate Ecology Lab will host a screening the 2016 documentary Beautiful Swimmers Revisited by Tom Horton, Dave Harp and Sandy Cannon-Brown in the Schmidt Conference Center. It will be followed by a brief discussion of the portrayal of science in the film, led by SERC director and blue crab ecologist Tuck Hines, who is interviewed in the film.

Film Description: “Beautiful Swimmers Revisited, a documentary film, was inspired by William W. Warner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning best seller, Beautiful Swimmers: Watermen, Crabs and the Chesapeake Bay. In the film, writer Tom Horton picks up where Warner left off in 1976 to find out what’s happened to crabs, crabbers and the bay over the past 40 years… and what’s next.”

Run time: 57 minutes
