Volunteers help by finding crabs that are in our crab collectors. The collectors are small milk crates filled with oyster shells. We put the collectors out for two months, then we look at how many crabs are using the crate as habitat.

We welcome volunteers age 12+, although all volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a participating parent/guardian. Younger volunteers may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for more information.  We can accommodate a maximum of 6 volunteers under the age of 16 per sampling session, and volunteers under the age of 16 may only sign-up for one session per day unless prior permission has been received.  Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
