Patricia Dantas Santos-Ciminera


I received my degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Analysis and my Master of Sciences in Tropical Pathology from the Amazonas Federal University in Brazil. During my time in Brazil I worked at the Amazonas Foundation for Tropical Medicine, first in the Clinical Laboratory, where most of my work was in Microbiology and Parasitology, and then in the Malaria Research Laboratory. Here in the US I obtained a PhD in Emerging Infectious Diseases at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. Prior to becoming a volunteer and then an employee at SERC, I worked as a Professor of Biology for some area Colleges and also at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI.
