After the fieldwork is complete, and the SERC researchers get to work sorting, processing, and analyzing all of their samples.

No prior experience is required with necessary training being provided when you start working with a lab.

Eligibility and expectations

  • No prior experience is required. All training will be provided. 
  • For most lab work, volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and able to commit 1 half day per week. If you are a minor, please have your parent/guardian fill out the form with their contact information.
  • Most opportunities are sporadic, and availability can change from year to year.
  • Lab work can be short-term (1-2 times over a couple weeks) or long-term (6 months - 1 year).
