PRE-K, PUDDLE STOMPERS: SPIDERS (PENDING GOVERNMENT REOPENING)

Come learn about the different types of spiders, from web builds to hunting and jumping spiders. We’ll go on a spider web hunt outside too. These programs are for children ages 3-5 yrs. All classes are $8 a student which includes a materials fee.

CANOE EXCURSION (10/5/13)
All Ages
Location: Reed Education Center
Start: 9:00AM

Paddle along the shores of Muddy Creek and the Rhode River to learn about one of the many tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. We'll look for wildlife, eagles, shorebirds, reptiles, and more. This trip is designed for beginning and intermediate paddlers. Basic instruction will be given at the start of the program.

Dr. Ogburn is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow working with the Fish and Invertebrate Ecology Lab at SERC. He has investigated a variety of issues in coastal fisheries that include work on blue crab recruitment and population dynamics, use of cutting-edge imaging sonar to monitor river herring spawning runs, use of sonic tags to study the behavior of blue catfish and grouper and snapper species, oyster restoration, shrimp recruitment, and statistical analysis of fisheries time-series data.
