Canoe Excursion (5/25/13)
Paddle along the shores of Muddy Creek and the Rhode River to learn about one of the many tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. We’ll look for wildlife, eagles, shorebirds, reptiles, and more. This trip is designed for beginning and intermediate paddlers. Basic instruction will be given at the start of the program. Cost is $16 per adult and $8 for children 6-12 years old; limited to 16 participants.

Fireflies
Discover the fascinating world of fireflies in this fun program designed to get you “glowing.” We’ll learn about the different species, and their “calls”, and how they glow; then take LED lights out to try to lure them to us with different flash patterns. Cost is $8 per person, suggested for ages 6+.

Native Orchids of Maryland Talk and Hike
Participants will learn about the native orchids of Maryland and research, conducted on these orchids, here at SERC. We’ll then take a short hike into the woods to look for these orchids. Cost is $8 per person, suggested for ages 15 to adult.
