Ceratium extensum 

One of the longest dinoflagellates known. Length may exceed 1200µ. Width of body 31µm. The above photo is showing the full length of one cell. This is a tropical oceanic species that appears sparsely in cold temperate to tropical waters. Collected from the ocean side (the fore reef) of Carrie Bow Cay in July 2003.
